š Organic Beef Smash Burgers with Thin Onions & Melted Cheese
Ingredients (Serves 4)
1 lb organic ground beefĀ (80/20 blend works best for juiciness)
4 gluten-free burger buns, sliced
1 large sweet onion, very thinly sliced
4 slices cheeseĀ (cheddar, American, or your favorite melty cheese)
2ā3 tbsp Huntān Buddy All Purpose Seasoning
2 tbsp butterĀ (or ghee for dairy-free)
2 tbsp avocado oilĀ (or other high-heat oil)
Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo
Instructions
1. Prep the Ingredients
Divide beef into 4 loose ballsĀ (donāt pack too tightly ā helps keep them tender).
Season each ball generously with Huntān Buddy All Purpose Seasoning.
Slice onions very thin ā paper-thin if possible.
2. Heat the Blackstone
Preheat on medium-high heatĀ until hot.
Lightly oil the surface with avocado oil.
3. Toast the Buns
Spread butter on the cut sides of the buns.
Place buns cut-side down on the griddle until golden brown, then set aside.
4. Smash the Burgers
Place a beef ball onto the hot griddle.
Top with a small handful of onionsĀ immediately.
Using a heavy spatula or burger press, press the beef very flatĀ (smash!) so onions press into the meat.
Cook 2ā3 minutesĀ without moving to get a deep crust.
5. Flip & Melt
Flip the patty so onions are now on the bottom.
Immediately add cheese on top of the meat.
Cover with a melting dome (or upside-down metal bowl) for 1ā2 minutesĀ until cheese is melted and onions are slightly caramelized underneath.
6. Assemble
Place burger patty on the toasted gluten-free bun.
Add any desired toppings and sauces.
Serve hot with fries or a side salad.
š” Blackstone Tip:Ā For extra flavor, toss a little extra Huntān Buddy SeasoningĀ on the onions as they cook for that sweet-savory crust.
